Memento

One of my all time favorite movies that I recommend all should see is “Memento” directed by Christopher Nolan. This movie was released in 2000 on October 11. The movie is about 113 minute long ( 1 hour and 53 minutes). This movie is rated R for drug and smoking use, violence and fight scenes, and brief nudity. Even though it carries the rating of R, i say it’s a great movie that everyone should see around the age of 13 or 14.

One of his pictures.

The whole movie is about a man whose wife, is raped and kill, and he is trying to kill the man responsible. When the incident took place, Leonard (The main character) was injured and now suffers from short-term memory lost and cannot make any new memories. To help him on his journey to find the killer of his wife he takes many pictures to help him remember everything and takes notes on them. All he knows is the killers name is “John G”.

Giving himself a tatoo.

One of the things he does to permanently keep all his clues is he tattoos them to his body. Some of them are done in a tatoo parlor, but some of them he gives himself. Lots of the tattoos are the licence plate of John G, “Find him and kill him”, and “John G. Raped and Murdered My Wife”, which is the only one that is written backwards.

The thing that I like about, and what is famous for, is that is moves backwards. The movie starts out seeing the end of the movie. The rest of the movie works backwards showing everything that happens before that scene you just saw. It was a little confusing to understand at first, but you’ll get used to it. Overall, I thought the movie was well thought out and filmed perfectly. I think this is one of Christopher Nolan’s Best.
